Controlling table row height? Or large calendar component?

Is it possible to control table row height any other way than increasing font size? I need to have a table with space below and above cell text. I tried (h:30). but without any effect.

I need this for a special type of calendar component, so if there are any large size calendar components that would be great. Especially if it supports adding colored dots etc symbols inside certain dates.
