It would be great if there was a widget setting that can be "marked as inactive".
Similar to how they can be marked as annotations, mark as "inactive" can only be seen by the wireframe designer. Under no circumstances should these be published to web.
That way we can develop features in wireframes that can only be seen by the wireframe designer. Published pages can still show/hide annotations but they can never show Inactive Widgets.
Marking them as an annotation wont work because we don't want this "annotation" to be seen but we do want the true annotations to be seen. Marking as inactive should be an easy addition.
