date widgets

Hi Peter, I find myself struggling with UI elements that would make great widgets:

• date picker widget (like this example)
• week schedule widget (like this example)

Could you share what your widget to-do list priorities looks like? Just curious (and impatient)!

Here's the list of widgets that I plan to add (in order of their priority):

• Arrow
• Date Picker (you've asked for it)
• Calendar
• Charts
• Tag Cloud
• Formatting Toolbar
• Coverflow
• Video Player
• Map

As you can see most of the remaining widgets are web related.

I also plan to spend more time on improving exising widgets. For example make the Table and Tree widgets more flexible.

One important feature that I'm trying to nail right now is the wiki-syntax support. Most of the widgets that accept text will also accept meta-characters. The syntax will allow to insert links, add text styling and use icons like bullets, checkboxes, etc.

Does any of the above looks useful to you? I'm open to any suggestion.

I'm not sure about the schedule widget. I'll do some research to see how general it can be. Did you try to use an image instead?

Peter, That sounds fantastic - way more extensive than I could have hoped for. My top 5 in that list would be:

1. Arrow
2. Date Picker
3. Calendar (ideally with week view / month view switch)
4. Charts
5. Video Player

I'm thrilled by the prospect of having some control on the text contained in a widget (I'm quite partial to Textile but Markdown would be good too).
