Change selected menu item when inside asset/component

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to make my page header and footer into reusable assets/components. These page elements are typically static across the entire site, except for which menu item is selected on the navigation. Is there any way to set the menu selection property on a page-by-page basis (without giving up the ability to make edits to these structural elements in a single location)?

Hi Matt. I plan to add property overriding for components. This will take care of your scenario. It's my highest priority item and I hope to finish it in September or October.
