Linux users running WireframeSketcher v5.1.0 from September 20, 2018 may experience performance issues. This article explains how to overcome them.

Causes

Version 5.1.0 of WireframeSketcher was released on September 20, 2018 and it was updated to be based on Eclipse 4.9. Unfortunately this version of Eclipse has a graphics performance issue that WireframeSketcher has also inherited. We’ve reported this issue as Bug 540908 and in the meantime it was confirmed and fixed in the development version of Eclipse.

Solution

The fix for this performance issue will be included in WireframeSketcher as soon as the next stable version of Eclipse is released, which is planned for the end of December 2018. In the meantime we’ve created a development version of WireframeSketcher that can be downloaded here:

Download for Linux 64-Bit.

Extract the archive directly to your location of choice and then run the WireframeSketcher launcher.
